Student Art Show

I thought the Art Show was pretty cool. I enjoyed seeing everything the other art classes were doing, and I even discovered some art classes I didn't know SCC even had. There was a lot of good work, and there was a fair share of work I didn't quite "get".

Likes

  • Skull Week Projects
  • Oil paintings. Some of them had REALLy good detail.
  • Jewelry. I had no clue there was a class for that, seems like it'd be fun.
  • Sculptures.
Dislikes
  • The InDesign wall. Seemed like a waste of wall space for an art show. Pamphlets?
  • Naked people from drawing class. ummmmmmm, yeah.
  • Annex room. There were some cool sculptures, and artwork. But I think it would've been better if there was a theme for the room, not just a bunch of random pieces.

Danny Santos II

Portraits of Strangers by Danny Santos II

This is actually a really cool blog, and it definitely fits with the assignment we have. He explains the situation he was in behind every picture, and there was a lot of "Can I take your picture?" "Yes". It's really that simple.

Johnny Cupcakes

This guy is a creative/marketing/business genius, and his self made clothing company has gone from T-shirts being sold out of his trunk, to a multimillion dollar business. One of the keys to his success has been his documentation of his company, pictures and videos of the company or their events are constantly posted. Here's a video they uploaded of the photo shoot they did for one of their lines they were releasing.

Check the company out. http://shop.johnnycupcakes.com

I'm not sure who made this picture, but it was definitely a shining example of how useful a tripod is.

Todd Owyoung

Leeds Festival- Taken by Todd Owyoung

Something about music festivals outside of America...THEY ARE MASSIVE.
Thousands of people. Lights. Music. RAIN. Fireworks... this is a moment that was captured perfectly.

Bjorn Lofterud

Artipelaf-Taken by Bjorn Lofterud
This person definitely isn't american, but they have a lot of great pictures. I loved the color in this photo a lot, and the architecture as well.

Terry Richardson

This guy has done it ALL. In his photoblog, there was a picture of him and an Amazonian tribe under this photo. I don't think he will ever slow down.
